Being still. Sitting in silence. Sounds relaxing and rather peaceful doesn’t it? I am writing this in week 3 of having no voice.  It isn’t fun by any stretch of the imagination.  There folks that are having far bigger battles than I am and would love not being able to speak as their battle.  My heart breaks for them.  But in these 3 weeks I have come to understand an important lesson. (Isn’t it funny what the Holy Spirit uses to teach us the things we need?)

The important lesson comes at a time when I find myself getting frustrated with not being able to talk. It is amazing the things we tolerate and not use the spiritual authority God has given to us.  I do believe that the things we go through, the things we battle are opportunities to learn something. They become those #ButGod moments that only He can orchestrate.

As a woman, mom, wife, pastor and so forth, it is easy to try and take things in our own hands. How many of us believe if I don’t do it, it won’t get done? How many times do we recognize the battle, not only for ourselves, but for  our kids too (no matter their ages). Speaking for myself, I can quickly run to put on the boxing gloves ready to  battle in all the areas of my life and the battles of those we love. We should always do what God says when it comes to fighting our battles. I do find myself on occasion getting  in the way of what God is doing on our behalf. Anyone else? Anyone?

So I sat down and thought “Ok God here I am . What would you have me to learn here? Remind me what I need to learn in the silence of my days.” He faithful leads me to a scripture that reminds of who He is to me. Exodus 14:14, “The Lord will fight for you and you have only to be silent.” He is so faithful. Those things we battle, the personal things, for our family – all our battles, HE IS THERE! He is fighting for me! For You! He has got this! In my silence I have only but to trust Him . Ahhh! There is the golden part of silence. It doesn’t matter what your battle is, He is fighting for you. While there is a time to make some noise in battle, there is a time to be silent and allow God to fight for you! Trusting for your #ButGod moment.
