+There has been multiple attempts to get this week’s blog out. I had struggled with time, wording and general clarity of thought. I realized that I was exactly in the place of the title of this blog. Was I stuck or waiting ? Realizing now it was a matter of perspective.  Perspective.  There’s a word that can effect the course of life. But our perspective of stuck vs. waiting can hold us back or move us forward. When you think of “Stuck”, there is no movement, no moving forward or backward. You are stuck.  Whereas, “waiting” can paint an entirely different picture. While it may be difficult to always wait patiently, there is an expectancy in the waiting. Again perspective. Waiting for me suggests an expected end. There is an anticipation of what is to come. So what is there to do with all this anticipation and expectancy?

Let’s look at the story of Joshua and Caleb. The twelve spies were sent to scope out the Promise Land so they could see how to possess it. God had given the Israelite’s this land but they needed to go possess it. Take what God had given to them.  Ten of the twelve spies had a totally different viewpoint. Again perspective. While ten saw things that seemed insurmountable, two saw something that would be very doable. Joshua and Caleb knew that what was ahead of them would not come without a fight. But it was something that was already theirs. There are things, territories in our life God has given to us that we have to fight for. Stake the claim, if you will! Ten of the spies only saw the circumstances that laid before them. While Joshua and Caleb looked ahead and saw the expected end. There will be battles that each of will have to fight. But when God has given to us what He promised, we wait. We wait not on God for He is likely waiting on us. He waits for us to take the steps forward, to keep our eyes on the prize that He has set before us. He waits for us to trust Him to order our footsteps. He waits for us to take that next step onto the battle field to fight for the Promise Land. * I don’t know who this is for but hear this: when it comes to moving to the next level with God, you have to fight for that territory. You have to go in and claim-take ownership, take possession of the promises of God. Go after the bounty of that level !

God is faithful. He laid it all out for the Israelite children, but it required something from them. Joshua and Caleb knew that their battle would be won with the first step into the Promise Land. A stuck person doesn’t move. A waiting person anticipates. What is your Promise land? Are you believing for loved ones salvation? Healing? Open doors? Unity? Peace? Whatever it is wait with the anticipation and expectancy, ever keeping your eyes on the Promise land! #ButGod
