It has been several months since my last post. Life has a way of bringing circumstances that you never thought you would be in.While you are in those times thoughts of how shall I make it out? When this end? Why me? What is the point of these experiences in my life? So what is this story of life all about?

Recently, I came up for re-election for the local school board. I have served on the school board for 14 years. Within that length of time, it was easy to find a mindset of routine or “this is what I do” dare I say . While the role I played had importance and significance in the lives of children and families, it wasn’t meant to be my only chapter. The story of my life was about to change chapters.

The thing about chapters is that they end but continue to lead us to the conclusion of our story. I think about some of the great ones who thought that their chapter was over. Jonah is one who God led to Ninevah to carry a message that would change lives. It would seem swallowed by a great fish would definitely serve as a plot twist for Jonah. Not only was there a new chapter coming, but seemingly the end of his story. After the big fish ejects Jonah, he is able to complete the task set before by God.

There are countless examples in the Word of characters who thought the end of the their chapter was the end of their story.Ponder for a moment if you will, David, Ruth, Esther, Isaac and so many more! Being a follower of Jesus Christ, our story with Christ should have many chapters. A new chapter denotes a change in our story. How many of you are ready for a new chapter?

A new chapter brings to us a new level of faith, trust and opportunities. I for one am looking forward to what God has for me. A new chapter….uncharted territories. I look forward to experiencing what God will scribe on my heart. Oh the pages He will write, the chapters He lead me in to that will stretch me and increase my faith like never before.

Let it be our prayer that the “author and the finisher of our faith” is creating a story that will impact others. I pray that God is continually writing and building your story.
Philippians 1:6 6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
