Romans 15:4, “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
Aren’t you thankful that we have hope? I know I am. I spent some time today looking for something that I needed. I discovered tucked away was a booked that I read a few years ago. This book was one of those that just speaks to you. I didn’t have to open it to reflect on any of the pages. I knew it left an imprint on my life because it was heavily flagged with Post-It notes! I always need my own copy of a book, chances are I will “booger” it up with notations and notes in the margin!
Books, for me have always served as containers of experiences, knowledge, feelings and so much more. I tried to pass the love of books onto my kids. As soon as they could hold their heads up, there was a book in front of them! But this blog isn’t about my passion for books, it’s about filling my container of life with experiences, knowledge, feelings and so much more! At the place I am right now in my life I look forward to walking out the doors that God will open before me.
Books, the God inspired kind, have a way of speaking to us when we need it the most. Of course, the best book is the one made up of sixty-six books- The Holy Bible! I am so thankful that His Word is active and alive! It’s still relevant for today. It is timeless! It is the container of truth! It is the container of knowledge, feelings and so much more!
In these last several weeks God has reminded me that “His ways are not my ways”. He also has shown me that He will order my steps and I need to run this race with endurance . He is writing this story! There comes a point that we cannot grab hold of what lies ahead for us until we release what is behind us. For us it may seem like a juicy plot twist in a who done it mystery, But God’s truth is, “I have called you and I shall complete what I have started.” It doesn’t always make sense. Our story line may cause us to scratch our heads, with the how is this going to work or where do I go from here? But the twist is how much do we trust God with our life? So I find myself in a very unique place – A place of new beginnings.
A new beginning. New territories. Fresh new pages which only God can foresee and know. But God is here. I sense His hand at work. I see the tangibility of His Word. I stand yielded ever trusting that, “Romans 15:4, “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” With this new chapter I can know whatever comes my way, based upon His Word, I will endure and be encouraged! I am trusting you God to open the doors of possibilities and opportunities.
In all hope I stand with great anticipation and hope for my heavenly Father to fill up the pages of my life. #ButGod
