During our time of suffering we must never lose our hope in God. In our natural thinking, it would be easy to understand how Job could lose hope  “Though he slay me, I will hope in him.” -Job 13:15. While Job lost everything and endured a physical assault on his body, he continued to place his hope in God.

Here is the difference on how we come out of our circumstances (sufferings). We will come out of our sufferings by placing and keeping our hope in God. Our hope is where we find that “peace that surpasses all understanding”. It is that blessed hope that only Christ can provide. If Job put his focus on all that he had lost and upon his sufferings, his focus would have been misdirected.

Our misdirected focus only serves to deplete, discourage and delay the fulfillment of God’s plan for our life’s. The enemy would love nothing more than to distract us from the hope only God can provide. Hope is defined by, a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. How many of us have that hope that our circumstances will be changing? We look to God the changer of our circumstances. It is only God that can get us through our sufferings and circumstances.

Father, help me to know that when life knocks the wind out of my sails, I can fully trust you with every aspect of my life. Remind me that you are the author and the finisher of my faith. No matter what I have gone through that you will continually work all things together for my good. Thank you for your Word that gives me my strength. My hope I place within you!
